Great support but training provider has areas to improve

As a career changer looking to go into project management, I was apprehensive about what qualifications to take suitable for me, how to break into the market and getting industry information. I decided to go with Learning People as I felt they provided all these things, came across as very professional and reasonably priced. Reviews seemed to reinforce what I was looking for. Overall, I am happy with my experience as I have met my objective - got a great new job, competitive qualifications and confidence on how the market operates. My main issues were with the training provider that LP decided to go with. I have raised this with them already, but generally, I felt ILX, the training provider, was lacking in the extensive qualifications (in particular, AgilePM practitioner and APM PMQ). Main issues: - I was expecting when I paid for the package that everything would be included, but was disappointed that textbooks that IMX referred to were not provided. One of my exams was an open book exam, so I had to pay additionally for a textbook to support me. - In the multiple choice exams, there were plenty of exam style questions. In exams which had more complicated formats/written answers, there was very little provided. One practise paper, and for APM a handful of exam questions with little feedback. I had to look elsewhere for additional resources. - Communication from ILX was poor, often taking much longer than expected and I had to involve LP once in order to receive a response. There are meant to be course tutors, but they don’t actually provide much 1-1 support. I acknowledge I took on some of the more difficult qualifications and with that, there should be challenge, but I do think these are quick fixes that would improve everyone’s experience. Overall, I think LP are putting in lots of interesting features to their programs and will provide an easy package for career changers. I fear if you are looking to do some of the more intensive courses, rather than introductory ones, you may be on your own a bit more in terms of support with your learning. I do believe LP listen to feedback though and I hope my response will help them improve.
