Be Careful
It is interesting seeing the amount of good reviews for General & Medical Healthcare, this could be due to their monthly charges being much lower than other such companies. However my recent experience with this company has not been good. On contacting General & Medical re a claim one is told that one will hear back from them within 48 hours. Should their underwriters not accept one's claim, from my experience General & Medical will refuse to reconsider not allowing further discussion while not accepting of any new facts re such a claim. They shut the door! Be warned....even when General & Medical have agreed to pay for a doctor's consultation...should that doctor send you to another doctor....General & Medical will want to see that referral and may or may not pay for that referral...Here's the kicker.....should that second doctor refer you back to the first doctor...General & Medical will want to see yet another written referral...it goes on and on.... As for the friendliness and putting one at ease...forget it....I have picked up a hard nose business practice in their manner, possibly with the exception of one person who seemed a little kinder...just one! The point is...you get what you pay for....as another General & Medical customers said to me..."You're not paying much and they will do everything to make it difficult for you to make a claim" Reading through these reviews one sees a pattern. The reviewers who criticize all seem to repeat the same criticisms...while General & Medical's innocuous, polite, political responses have not changed their behaviour to their customers...are they not listening or do they not care as there seems to be no change. I believe that their customer service and mode of operating is not good when it comes to people feeling sick, in pain and vulnerable.
