STAY FAR FAR AWAY. San Francisco Shop
I'll start by saying that when I signed up with Zoomo as a rent to own customer, I didn't know much about bicycles other than how to ride one, so the fact that maintaining and servicing the bike was all part of the deal is what sold me. For a year and a half, I was consistently in the shop at least twice a month for various reasons, believing that they were doing whatever needed to be done to keep my bike in tip top shape. I happened to bring the bike to another shop closer to my apartment to get a tire fixed, and the mechanic there asked me if I had ever had any service performed on the bike, and after telling him that it had been serviced over a dozen times he literally said, "dude, you're getting screwed" and pointed out a plethora of issues that were all indicative of a general lack of on-going basic maintenance. I was forced to replace my entire drivetrain, both of my rotors were so thin that they could have cracked at any time and I could have been seriously injured, my tire spokes were all lose causing my spokes bend and warping my wheel. Ultimately I ended up spending close to $500 to fix the issues, but initially I didn't have the funds to fix everything and I no longer had my bike to earn money, so I reached out to Zoomo about the issue, asking them to make it right by giving me a free week on another bike so I could earn what I needed to fix it. It took 3 weeks and numerous emails to get a response, and instead of any sort of apology and finding a way to make it right, all they did was tell me I still owed them money for a fork they had installed (which had been initially installed wrong, which was kind of scary as I was riding home). For two weeks, they fought with me, never once being remotely apologetic and never offering to do anything to make up for the huge expense that was a direct result of their negligence. Instead, they charged my credit card without my authorization to do so, taking every penny I had at the time which had been the money I needed to buy my dogs food. They didn't care whatsoever and wrote back to me with an email that said they "appreciated my business.". Zoomo falsely advertises to lure people in, and then they start charging you for things you thought were included but really aren't, they have terrible customer service, and they have no ethics. Your safety will be at risk if you rent from them, and I highly suggest if you're looking to buy a bike that you buy from a dealer who won't sell you a bike that wasn't properly serviced. Don't fall victim to their sketchy business practices and stay far, far away. Worst interaction with a company I have ever experienced in my life.
