The valuations on this website are useless. I happened to check house prices in my area just to compare with information on Righmove for an area I was interested in. That area showed a dramatic decline in values over the last year. When I checked the local area I found a similar level of decline - 59% in the last year. Very few properties come on the market around here so I was surprised that Rightmove showed an average of £175,000. When I looked closer I could see it was based on one sale of a leasehold flat. The last house to sell was showing as £330,000 - three years previously. The people who bought that house spent over £500,000 on restoring and extending it. It is probably worth more than a house on an adjoining street that sold for £625,000. The point is that the figures Rightmove give are pure fantasy. If they are not prepared to make the effort of understanding local markets they should stop misleading people
