Terrible experience buying from BHF Furniture Store online

I recently had a terrible experience purchasing from the British Heart Foundation furniture store via eBay and will not buy from them again. I bought a kitchen table and chairs set using the auction platform after seeing the listing online. The photographs in the listing did not show any damage to either the table or the chairs, so I proceeded with the purchase and paid a significant amount for the set to be collected and delivered to me. However, when the items arrived, they were clearly damaged, with chips, scratches, knocks, and visible wear from use that had not been shown or disclosed in the listing. Had this damage been visible in the photos or mentioned in the description, I would not have purchased the set or paid the considerable delivery cost. I contacted the British Heart Foundation to report the issue. They initially offered a 25% discount, but this was not acceptable to me given the condition of the items. I requested a full refund and for the table and chairs to be collected, as the items were not as described. Since then, I have had to go back and forth with them repeatedly. After I referred them to my rights under consumer rights legislation, they stated that they would arrange collection of the items, but they have still not confirmed that I will receive a full refund despite my follow-up messages. In addition, no one has contacted me to arrange the collection. As a result, I have now had to ask eBay to step in and assist. My concern now is that although I may receive a refund through eBay, the British Heart Foundation may fail to collect the damaged furniture, leaving me responsible for arranging disposal of large items that should never have been sent to me in this condition. Overall, this has been a very disappointing, expensive, and exhausting experience. I have even had to purchase a brand-new table and chairs, which I could not really afford, simply because I could not face the stress of getting into this situation again.
