Marriott sham(e)
My wife and I, loyal Marriott customers for decades and Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium Elite members, are beyond frustrated by Marriott's deceptive sales tactics. We were pressured into purchasing a timeshare at Ko Olina Beach Club in Oahu and the Pulse Hotel in New York City, with promises that turned out to be blatant lies. The sales meetings in both locations were misleading and manipulative, and we spent over $30,000, along with a $33,000 loan balance, without receiving any of the promised benefits. Despite attempting to recoup our losses, we found there was no viable resale market. The COVID-19 pandemic further hindered our travel plans, making it nearly impossible to use the purchased points, yet we were expected to continue paying maintenance fees and mortgage payments, but barred from traveling. The accommodations at the Pulse Hotel was far from the advertised standards, and it appears we were subjected to a bait and switch type of deal. Our trust in Marriott has been irrevocably damaged, and we believe the only way to rectify this situation is to rescind our contract and reimburse us for our expenses. This experience has left us bitter with a brand we once held in high regard.
