Rightmove Is Unprofessional and Fails to Follow GDPR Regulations
Rightmove is an unreliable and unprofessional platform. My property was originally listed on their website as 150 square meters (though it is actually 159 square meters). However, without any cause or explanation, Rightmove changed the square footage to 125 square meters, significantly undervaluing my property and misrepresenting its size. I contacted their Data Protection Officer with Ticket ID: [#6267304] to request a correction under UK GDPR (Article 16: Right to Rectification) or, failing that, the removal of inaccurate data under Article 17: Right to Erasure. Months later, my email has been ignored by both their customer services and non-functional Data Protection Officer, and no action has been taken. Rightmove’s refusal to comply with GDPR regulations and their failure to address this matter demonstrates a complete lack of professionalism and accountability. A company that cannot adhere to basic legal obligations should not be trusted with property data. For anyone considering using Rightmove, I strongly recommend switching to Zoopla, a platform that operates with professionalism and respects UK data protection laws. Rightmove's rogue behavior has left me no choice but to escalate this issue to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). This platform does not deserve your trust!
