I am very happy with my Sakura Mobile plan. They offer a variety of plans based on communication requirements and length of time in Japan. I am in Japan for a relatively short period, so Sakura Mobile's month-to-month contract was a no-brainer for me. But even if I was in Japan for years, I would still recommend Sakura Mobile as the most affordable and flexible option in Japan.
