Invicta warranties have no actual value
I have purchased several Invicta watches. A $159 watch with a 3 year warranty recently stopped working in less than 8 months. I went through required Invicta warranty process. The warranty repair charges $28 just to send the watch in to them. I just received an email with an invoice requiring me to pay an additional $109 to get my watch back. The warranty department is adding costs to me that are manufacturing failures including cleaning, and crystal and gasket replacements that failed. $137 customer cost to repair a watch that cost $159 just 8 months ago. Invicta should not falsely claim a 3 year warranty if they have no intention to honor a warranty. They should just include a 6 month warranty, and I would know when the watch fails, we just have to purchase a replacement. It really is false advertising. Very disappointing. The price is attractive because these are basically short-term watches to be trashed in 6 months to maybe a couple of years. Obviously I am not sending Invicta repair division another $109 to repair a watch that failed within 8 months of a 3 year warranty. I would just purchase a replacement watch - but not from Invicta. A warranty that actually costs the customer as much to repair under warranty as the value of the watch - is not really a warranty. This appears to be a fake warranty scam by Invicta. I have another Invicta watch that recently had the rubber band break. the watch was $139. The replacement band will be $75, and $20 for labor to replace. I can purchase a brand new watch with a steel band for $139. Replacing the band doesn't make sense at these prices. I think Invicta watches are basically temporary throwaway watches - which is fine. If anyone is considering buying an Invicta watch, you should stay away from their more expensive watches. When they fail, even under warranty, you will just be asked to pay more. If you are purchasing an Invicta watch under $100, the time it will last can be justified. Just know the warranty has little to no value.
