Sixt staff – fraudsters on commission
Sixt staff – fraudsters on commission I booked a car through Ryanair Car Hire on 6th June commencing at Napoli Airport on 7th July and ending in Pisa Airport on 24th July for an all-in agreed price of €705.11. What Sixt did next was simply theft beyond the agreed price. As stated, the price agreed with Ryanair Car Hire was €705.11. I had already told Ryanair Car Hire when booking that I would be driving one-way from Naples Airport pickup point to Pisa Airport dropping-off point (some 17 days later) so this presumably would have been taken into account in the final quote. But a number of items appear on the invoice from Sixt (for which monies have already been removed from my account); for example I expressly told ‘Mr Antonio M’ when picking up the car in Naples Airport that I already had excess insurance and – despite his blandishments - insisted that I did not wish to take out a policy there. Nevertheless, I note that €350.46 was removed from my Mastercard account by Sixt without my permission. Similarly I note a charge of €63.95 ‘Premium Location Fee’. The Sixt office at Naples Airport is the only Sixt office in the city and I had no choice but to take a taxi from our hotel in Naples to the airport to pick up the car two days after I’d flown into the city with Ryanair. And then I saw ‘Road Tax, RFL’ charged at €40.50! It seems to me that Sixt can dream up whatever they like by way of extra charges and remove monies from the client’s account for same! PS As instructed, I kept a €20 receipt for AdBlue which had to be added to the engine during the hire. The lady at the Sixt office in Pisa photographed this receipt and assured me that this would be refunded. I am still waiting.
