autoUnion Car Rental Susie Fieldhouse Very disappointed with Auto Union New Zealand. The staff member we dealt with was in our view arrogant, a simple question was met with "you are not listening to me, and any issues needed to be taken up with the booking agency" . As for the car... a hybrid Aqua...it broke down after 5 days, and we were told this often happens it will be fine just keep driving it. We refused and were issued with a substitute, ....although the radio didn't work..., was fine, although a bit dubious it would have passed its next warrant. However we were then charged a 25.00 dollar fee for not paying a toll, which was incurred 4 days before we were given the replacement vehicle. We acknowledge things can go wrong, however the communication skills of this particular staff member left a lot to be desired. Having to spend valuable holiday time sorting out these issues, we have concluded, we will not be booking through this company again.
