We were very disappointed with this…
We were very disappointed with this trip, and because of this, we will never participate in another EF tour trip again! The hotels were less than standard, even though they were three and even a four star hotel. The accommodations were sort of okay, but the food at the hotel in Florence was absolutely atrocious. They serve old egg and breakfast meat in the pasta for dinner to recycle food and that is completely unacceptable. For breakfast, they served raw disgusting cheap weiners and pinto beans! Accommodations could’ve been better, but food should’ve been A LOT better. Italy has beautiful meats and carbs and food and my son had to suffer through not eating breakfasts unless it was a cheap pastry and warm water! For this price, there should have been more food/meals provided when it was supposed to be mostly inclusive…my son ended up spending $500 in food and drinks because not enough was provided for him (sodas, gelato, Mr Donald’s, sandwiches at cafes, COLD bottles of water) and he’s a tiny guy with a small appetite. The food just wasn’t to his standards…or anyone’s, for that matter, and it was subpar and not fresh and very disappointing other than the cooking class and the one pizza dinner. And I have the pictures to prove what awful food the hotel served. Eating McDonald’s in another country 5 different times because the kids were hungry is sickening. Additionally, this trip should’ve included at least one beach day and time to swim at the pool at the hotel in Florence. My son took two swimsuits and wasn’t even able to see the water or swim. That’s an absolute atrocious atrocity. Very disappointed overall. No one wants to play stupid soccer and gladiator fighting with flour sacks when it’s hotter than Hades and humid. The kids want to swim and enjoy the beauty Italy has to offer. Shame on ya’ll for not planning better cities to visit and making my son hate Italy! Sicily, Venice, small non-touristy cities near the ocean, that’s where you should take the kids after their Rome and Florence visits, not back to the ghetto graffiti slums you took them back to. And rethink using such an intense tour guide. Everyone knows these teens are lazy and barely move around. They don’t want to run through the cities and gladiator anything! Even the painting in the swamp experience stink! Do better, EF Tours…much better!
