HORRENDOUS SALES EXPERIENCE
We initially got put in touch with Sunshine Home Improvements through the Help to Buy Scheme, where we were told we would get a no obligation quote that would be valid for 12 months. Tom from Sunshine Home Improvements came to give us a quote for our windows. This was the first company and we were looking for a range of quotes to make comparisons. Tom was creepy, over familiar and took two hours to excessively make his sales pitch, measure the house and over ingratiate himself in order to make the sale. At one point my husband left the room to do something as it was taking so long and during this time I asked Tom if it would take much longer as he’d already taken and hour and a half. He replied it was going to take a while longer as he needed to calculate the quote! During this time, Tom rang people in the company three times in an over exaggerated ploy to get us better deals and commitments. It was exhausting. When he eventually did get around to giving us the quote it was grossly overinflated, but he said he could halve this if we committed to their 6 weeks live diary! My husband and I made it clear we weren’t ready to commit yet and particularly if he wasn’t prepared to give us the direct price straight away, at this point we politely, but firmly asked Tom to leave. Tom asked for a second chance and for us to commit to the 6 week diary. My husband again politely, but firmly said no and it was time to leave. At this point Tom said my husband was arrogant and we were rude for not giving him a second chance. This upset my husband for calling him arrogant in our home and we asked Tom to leave a third time. My husband and I were shocked at how pushy Tom was to make the sale and that he would insult us in our own home. It was an horrendous experience and I would not recommend this company. I have also informed the Help to Buy Scheme of this incident.
