Not the horror story we expected
I read so many horror stories online about car rental but was pleasantly surprised by my experience with Lava. We took lots of pictures of the car when we got it so we had our own record of the condition in case of disputes but didn't end up needing them. We didn't incur any damage although one of the brake lights went and we had to contact them for advice which was promptly given. It was a little confusing to find the pick up point at the airport but that's because I hadn't properly processed that you need to go to the Departures side not Arrivals. When dropping off the car we had to wait for the minibus as there were quite a few other people dropping off cars and only a couple of staff members (it was early on a Sunday morning). We'd allocated extra time for this so didn't mind waiting but I would suggest giving yourself at least half an hour to be safe. When the bus driver was able to get away from the counter there were too many people to fit everyone on the minibus, but lucky this did seem to be done in order of arrival so having got there first we made it onto the first trip. The car was modern and we didn't have any issues with it aside from the brake light. The emails in advance of collecting the car were really helpful and whenever I contacted the office they answered quickly. We opted for full insurance to be safe and I think we'd do the same again even if other people say you don't need it. In all we were happy with the service we received and would use the company again.
