Not great but not terrible either
The reviews I had read about Discover Airlines before I took my first flight today were mostly very negative and hence I was worried but I did have a decent experience, although there are legitimate concerns the airline needs to pay serious attention to. This is my observation from the experience I had just today (Mar 22, 2025) with Discover Airlines flight 4Y 76 from FRA -> YYC in Economy Class on an Airbus A330-300 (D-AIKH). Pros: 1. The seat pitch is just like any other international airline, it is NOT smaller or any different at all. My seat was 43A. 2. The blanket is probably one of the best I have ever found being provided to economy class passengers. 3. The 2nd meal (Veg Pastry) was really good. 4. The onboard staff were pleasant and friendly. 5. The cookie was delicious! Cons: 1. The boarding at FRA was a NIGHTMARE, the gate looked like a fish market. They must organize themselves a lot better. 2. The first meal (lunch) was absolutely terrible. The non-veg was over by the time they came to my row and the veg meal was barely edible. 3. The staff ignored most of the cabin crew calls from my seat. 4. The temperature was hot and uncomfortable once the flight departed. I had made requests for the AC to be turned down but to no avail. 5. The toilets need to be cleaned frequently, they were not clean at all. 6. The crew should keep some extra meals on board, just in case some passengers are hungry (nowadays the airline food quality is only good for a child). 7. Non-Veg items are barely available for passengers who are towards the last section of the aircraft because the crew start offering food from rows in ascending order ALL the time.
