Extremely poor customer service

I ordered an item on line as a gift for my daughter who lives in another state. All my information was recorded and I received a confirmation email. Not more than an hour later, I received an email that my order was canceled. I called the number provided with the cancellation notice. The connection was terrible and I was having trouble understanding the person. Finally I told him the line was making a crackling sound. He said he was going to transfer me to another department, but I got disconnected. I called the number back and I got a recorded message asked me for an access number, which I didn't have. I tried calling the store directly and the message said the number was no longer in service. This isn't the first time I've had trouble with Michael's. I got a gift certificate on line for a friend. When she presented it to the cashier, it did not work. Fortunately I was with her and I had the confirmation email on my phone. The store manager had to call headquarters and get the mess straightened out. From now on, I'll go to Walmart or order from Amazon. At least they have the courtesy to work with the customer. And why do I have to Continue with either Google or Facebook with this review. The corporate office needs to know about how poorly their stores are being run.
