Not what it used to be…
While it is good for sorting out things like a canon series’ alternate wiki (you won’t find some underrated content at times), it’s also good for showing that some content are worthwhile reads and watches. One time I made a new page for a popular fanfiction but I got a notification that says something like this page has been deleted because I didn’t update for over a week or two. All because I had that work deleted for trying to make a pseudo-guide and help readers tell what’s going on in that story, those mods deleted it. BUT months later, someone else did that same thing to the same fanfic that’s eventually remade?! What the hell moderators? Couldn’t there be separate sections for the old and new versions?! However, be warned that some fan content demonizes characters who are harmless or are just flawed protagonists because those have been rising since the late 2010s. I once gave a review concerning a book series’ take on abuse that was executed poorly. And several users behaved like abuse apologists (ex. blaming the abuse victim that she “led him on” despite being no solid evidence of her being the type to manipulate others for selfish reasons) and accused me of not thinking clearly. I apologized for the way I worded it but a few weeks after that my review got flagged and deleted. It just shows that any rabid fan would defend any popular franchise going as far as to silence the critics even when people are concerned about how bad situations are handled. While teen and adult franchises can be excused since older people usually know what’s going on, you all shouldn’t really excuse franchises aimed at children because they won’t see the subtle abusive and toxic behaviors. I’m so glad I deleted my account because I barely even use it…
