Azura cruise
Really wish I wasn’t writing this and we have given ample opportunity for things to be made right. We picked an inside suite not wanting to spend quite as much time in it but more time exploring. The first week was great, all the places we visited were lovely we really explored the different locations. When we were on the ship we avoided the upstairs buffet area as there were lots of flies hoovering around the food. We had to request and remind reception a couple of times for prepaid robes and conditioner which were not in our room. The food in the main restaurants was fine but by no means gourmet we heard others complain and I did send back food twice myself. Serval times we had to ask for clean silverware and new cups due to being unclean and bad smells which will be from dishwashers. This aside first week was lovely. Entertainment was mostly good. Benjamin Ross was the best, Jo little appeals to the older generation and the two staff from creative waves were lovely. Some of the tributes singing acts weren’t good at all. Second week was a complete nightmare. We got new neighbours, we asked reception twice to move I begged a night manager, I even contacted them on their Facebook page who told me they could only deal with the complaint when we were home which they havnt dealt with at all. I’ve emailed the CEO to escalate the complaint. I wish on board I’d kicked off on the ship, they said no other rooms were available but I highly doubt this was the case. It ruined our second week of our holiday and I’ve had to contact p&o 4 times and email the ceo for a complaint to be logged which has been on for 3 weeks with no outcome yet. The new neighbours wern’t noisy because of alcohol. They were partially deaf and had their tv on max volume which wouldn’t be bad except they fell asleep with it blaring out all hours. We had two port changes on the second week from our original itinerary and they were both disappointing and not the “quaint pretty towns” as promised. Whenever we tried to relax in our rooms we heard through our walls Donald trump with his “maybe i will, maybe i won’t” antics which is not what you want to hear on holiday at all. The air conditioning broke 4 times during our holiday. Once for the whole deck. You couldn’t get mobile signal or internet in our room. On change over days the cleaning staff made so much noise collecting bottles. I had to go out at 10pm on one night remind them the time. The captain always did a speech in the morning at around 7.30/8am which if your neighbours had you awake until 2am was frustrating to say the least. On departure day you were expected out of your room at 8am even on a 7pm flight. I don’t know why they don’t stagger the departures in accordance to guest leaving and arrival. We asked to be moved during our second week ample enough times and if we had been moved this trip would have been so much better. The lack of sleep really dampened our second week. When you’re on holiday you just want to unwind and relax you don’t want to know about disasters and pending doom going off in the world. I really wouldn’t recommend Azura for going around Greece. They’d cancelled two ports on us and when we got to Athens we were warned of lots of crime and made us question why we was brought here. The acropolis is covered in scaffolding. Promised unicorns and ponies. Delivered a dead horse. We had afternoon tea in the epicurean, I asked for a coffee and was brought English tea and the experience of the afternoon tea wasn’t one I’d want to repeat. I didn’t rate the quality of the food or the atmosphere. We did fine at the beach house one night and that was hats off the best restaurant on the ship. Highly recommend this. We both have allergies and staff dealt with this amazingly. Yoga was our ship steward and he made our room up beautifully each day.
