Get sailing with Intrepid through the Ionian Islands
This was my second 8-day yacht trip arranged by Intrepid. Last year was Santorini to Mykonos and this time to the Ionian islands on the western side of Greece. I love all the Greek Islands and the Ionian islands are truly beautiful. They are not thought of by many tourists, but they absolutely should be. Our skipper, Lukas, was brilliant. He took all of the logistical thinking from us and made our holiday so memorable. There are many mountainous islands in the Ionian group. This trip takes you to some of the smaller islands whilst it begins on Kefalonia and finishes on Corfu. Add at least a couple of full days to both islands as there is so much to see and do. I added 4 and 5 days respectively and that was about right. As an added bonus, I watched turtles from the shore at the port of Argostolion and saw a couple on snorkelling days. The Adriatic Sea is crystal clear and there are many snorkelling and swimming stops each day.
