Misleading, Unreliable, and Poor Customer Service
RE: NVR34710A29374 I booked a 9‑seater vehicle with Nationwide Vehicle Rentals nearly two months in advance for a critical family trip. At the last minute, they cancelled my booking, claiming there were “no alternatives available.” This left me scrambling for accessible transport during the busiest travel period of the year. Their customer service is appalling — phone lines that never get answered even after waiting over an hour, dismissive emails, and a refusal to provide proper compensation. To make matters worse, while telling me no vehicles were available, their own website was still advertising the exact same 9‑seater (Mercedes Vito) for the dates I needed. That is misleading and feels fraudulent. A refund alone does not cover the stress, wasted time, and disruption caused. Offering a token £50 voucher is insulting when I had to face the risk of losing my trip altogether. Nationwide Vehicle Rentals failed to deliver the service promised, misrepresented availability, and showed no accountability. I will be escalating this to Trading Standards and strongly advise others to avoid this company.
