Beware Harcourts sales practices

Over recent years I’ve attended 4 Harcourts auctions. The one success turned out to be a bad EQC repair, (covered up by a woefully inaccurate vendors building report), that subsequently needed to be demolished and caused me years of anguish. Since then the other 3 auctions all followed the same pattern: The agent talks down the price to get you to the auction. After spending time and money on doing your due diligence, you find at auction the reserve was way higher than your stated maximum budget. All they want is bidders to push the price up, and they don’t give a stuff about you. A misleading tactic that leaves a very bad taste!
