14 Nights Spain
Accommodation: The room was serviced only once per day, which meant after showering in the evening you had no dry clean towels for the morning. While we understand the desire to reduce the waste a daily program is an absolute must and should be reinstated along with the evening room turn down service. Restaurant: This is the only reason we cruise but after experiencing the poor standards, marked and scratched diner plates it is clear MSC are cutting corners. Never have we been on a cruise where you are expected to use your dinner knife for your roll and main meal as well. Asking for a pot of tea seemed to verify so much ranging from incorrectly fitting lid to milk served in glass and expected to use a spoon to add the milk to your drink. The food was often cold, the veg was grey and tasteless due being constantly steamed which surprisingly did nothing to keep it warm. The presentation was often comparable to a school meal, potato and rice being served in rounded domes. Bars: We found ourselves searching the ship for our choice of drink as there is no consistency, some bars would serve certain brands while others, we also noted from reviews of this ship that another cost cutting exercise had taken place in the removal of higher price brands and cocktails very annoying when we had paid for the premium drinks package. Pool Area: The glasses in the pool bars are disgusting and need to be replaced, when ordering from here not only did you choose your drink you first needed to choose a glass that was not marked or damaged. Seating & Sunbeds: We spent considerable time trying to find seating and sunbeds which all wasted our time during our holiday. It is blatantly clear MSC have far too few of both making it impossible to relax or enjoy any entertainment in these areas. While it is not acceptable to reserve sunbeds, we thought we would be allowed 10 minutes to collect a coffee before being deemed as hogging sunbeds before our towels were removed by the pool attendant, apparently not. Most if not all where raised while onboard and nothing changed.
