Courtesy and consideration.
Yesterday (7/9/20), I replied to a routine email from EMPM concerning office hours, and took the opportunity to sound the agent about the likelihood of my landlord's agreeing to expenditure on a new shower. I received a courteous reply from the (lady) manager in a couple of hours, in which she promised to speak to my landlord, and also offered advice and encouragement concerning the garden area. Such swift, helpful and courteous responses have been characteristic of the Newark branch of EMPM ever since I became a tenant with them, in 2007, the outstanding example being in January 2020, when the manageress, and a colleague, called on me to give the unwelcome (to me, at any rate) news that my landlord wished to sell the property, and I'd have to move. I could have been given this message by telephone or email, but, knowing how disappointed I'd be to leave a really comfortable home, the manageress decided a personal visit would soften the blow. The staff of EMPM have shown such courtesy and kindness to me ever since the summer of 2007.
