An amazing visit to Tibet
The Beijing to Kathmandu tour was fabulous. Be ready for a long crowded train ride to Lhasa. I spent most of my time in the dining car drinking tea as it was much less crowded. Tibet was the heart of the trip and that was amazing. Our guide Pema was great. You see a lot of Tibet in a short amount of time. The transfer across the border into Nepal and to Kathmandu is a long day made longer by the formalities at the border, the very rough roads in Nepal, and getting 2 more hours “back” when crossing the border. I’d recommend breaking that day up into two days. Overall it was an amazing trip though.
