DON'T BOTHER - PAY FOR RAC/AA - Unless you have all day to waste!
I wasted an entire afternoon waiting for a breakdown mechanic/recovery vehicle after spending 22m 32s on the 'Phone to begin with to get help. During the initial call it them ages to find the details and then we agreed the Engineer would "Call me on approach" giving me 30 minutes to get back to the vehicle, in case I needed to leave it. The call never happened so I sat in the car from 11.37am until 15.21pm when the mechanic eventually arrived. This is despite them saying it would only take between 60 and 90 minutes to arrive and effect repairs and despite getting a text stating the mechanic would arrive BEFORE 2.03pm. I rang several times asking when the mechanic was going to arrive and got fobbed off with "He's stuck in traffic but is on route". When the mechanic arrived he said he couldn't repair it so would have to take ot to a local garage. In total FIVE hours of my life have been thrown away today! Not impressed at all.
