Sixt car hire company sixt.co.uk I travelled to Roma Ciampino Airport with the family and it was late when we arrived with three kids, there was a long delay with the contract been filled out and I was heavily overcharged for a 14-day vehicle hire which amounted to 1,378.16 EUR. I was NOT happy to pay the original price which was 1,128.94- EUR due to the conditional of the car as it wasn't as clean as I was expecting for the price and considering COVID-19 as there was thick dirt on the windscreen that would only go away if I sprayed water on it which made visibility difficult when driving and there was a rattling noise from the boot when the vehicle was moving. The indicator wouldn't turn off when I made a turning and there was a chip in the tyre in the front left of the vehicle that wasn't made clear to me when I drove away with the vehicle at 10:30 pm. As I didn't get the chance to meet anyone at the Sixth drop off centre to flag all of these issues I have sent a complaint letter to your HQ when I arrived back to the UK and I will await their response before proceeding the matter further as your prices are outrageously high and not clearly stated. The extra price break down can be found below and my response back from SIXT was extremely dismissive. Extra days 1 50.88 50.88 EUR A1 Please can you tell me what the extra day is for as I never changed my original booking? kms inclusive 783 What does this mean and is there any cost involved? Out Of Hours Fee 1 40.98 40.98 EUR A1 An out of hours charge was never discussed and honestly, we had to wait an hour whilst your system and operator completed our application twice? Registration Fee 15 2.30 34.50 EUR A1 What is this cost for? Additional driver 1 135.12 135.12 EUR A1 An extra cost was never agreed as I believed this was part of the original package considering the cost? Premium Location Fee 16.00 155.81 EUR A1 Please can you explain this cost? A1 IVA 22,00% 248.52 EUR What is this extra charge and why wasn't this made clear on my first invoice? Sixt car hire company sixt.co.uk ******************************************************** Given the bad experience I have received with SIXT, I would absolutely NOT recommend this company as you need to understand the hidden costs before you sign a contract and the customer service is extremely poor.
