Complete and utter FRAUDS, INCOMPETENT techs, AVOID at all costs
I decided to get my phone repaired late last year because it had a hair-line crack in the screen. It is a Samsung S10+, less than a year old at the time. Absolutely no problems at all with the phone other than the minor crack. Took it down to Mobile "Experts" at Burleigh Heads, Queensland. I specifically asked them whether they use genuine Samsung parts in the repair process which they confirmed they do with an absolute straight-face. I work in IT so I know that inferior, knock-off / third-party components are going to be cheap crap and I wanted to keep my phone running well. So $450 and half a day later I pick up my phone, that night went to bed with a fully charged phone only to find it dead flat by the morning. Awesome, with magnificent timing my main client had been irately trying to call me in relation to an IT issue and couldn't get through. Various troubleshooting and testing, took the phone back and they advised something might have happened to the battery. Had to wait over the weekend until the replacement battery arrived the next week. I enquired with Mobile "Experts" Burleigh Heads what went wrong and he went on about how difficult the newer phones are to fix and that they don't use screws. When I brought the phone in for repair the technician had at least 4-5 phones on his workbench each in various stages of disassembly. He showed me my original genuine Samsung parts and I could clearly see a deep scratch in the phone tray and on the battery. He couldn't really explain that one. Obviously he's had issues disassembling the phone and gouged into it with his tools. I again enquired whether the replacement battery was a genuine Samsung battery and again with butter-wouldn't-melt-in-their-mouth sincerity confirmed it was and showed me the battery that was loosely packed in a Samsung branded box. So long story short, the issue of rapid phone battery discharge still persisted. My fully charged phone would be dead in a few hours. Never mind the potential danger of a malfunctioning phone and lithium battery possibly exploding in my pocket. Not trusting the "repair" of my phone to the company that damaged it in the first place, took it to authorised Samsung repairer Tecworks in Southport who for $350 (yes, $100 cheaper than bodge job el "repair" with cheapo third-party, non-genuine parts) replaced the screen/battery/and tray. The issue still persisted and I had to go back again to Tecworks and have the whole mainboard and other associated parts replaced. The issue was finally resolved after probably close to a month of stuffing around. Tecworks advised that Samsung does not provide genuine Samsung parts and components to non-authorised repairers. Just to further illustrate the kind of company Mobile Experts is, I gave a counter-offer which was conveniently ignored until the 6 month parts warranty expired. After again following up about a refund I get from Troy (apparently the Queensland State Operations Manager – right from the top) "As it has now been almost 6 months since this repair, so we are no longer able to provide a refund on the LCD." So $450 out-of-pocket, with an at-the-time unusable and potentially dangerous phone, and the stress and hassle of trying to run a business without a phone –I get absolutely nothing in return. So in recap, this scummy dirty little business lied twice about using genuine Samsung parts in their repair right to my face, physically damaged my phone to the point where the battery couldn't retain charge, denied all responsibility and then ignored my complaint for months to again, with absolute indifference and apathy to a paying customer, fob me off with an absolutely irrelevant excuse. Lesson: Don't get your phone repaired with Mobile Experts, they are complete and utter frauds and incompetent technicians - just go to an authorised repairer.
