Bobby deserved life, Bobby deserved better
On Monday, 29 June 2025, I adopted an 8-week-old Cavalier cross from Many Tears Animal Rescue, and called him Bobby.
By Wednesday, he was unwell, and by Tuesday 8th July, Bobby was sadly no longer with us.
I was told he had a “full, clear health check" when picking him up, but he deteriorated quickly with worms, dehydration, seizures, and an open fontanelle. Bobby deserved better care and respect from those who were meant to help him prior to his adoption.
Bobby saw multiple vets duing his 8 day's with myself. Every vet, was concerned to why his open fontanelle was not been disclosed, and why he wasn't given adequate worming. They also questioned if Bobby had ever seen a vet. I only have the word of Many Tears that his health check was carried out by a qualified veterinarian. No vets name has ever been disclosed on his paper work or thereafter.
After paying over £3000 vets fees in 6 days, I desperately called the Many Tears emergency line. They promised they wouldn’t let Bobby die and offered to take over his care, which brought a huge amount of relief. Yet the following days were filled with distress, miscommunication, and decisions about Bobby’s life were made without me. Which resulted in Bobby's death.
He was put to sleep without my knowledge or permission by Many Tears Animal Rescue.
Bobby had no further treatment in their care, and was aloud to deteriorate. I twice, requested a meeting about Bobby's ongoing treatment in the 2 days Many Tears had him. Twice it was declined.
5 months later, I’m still extremely angry, heartbroken and totally devestated. After reaching out to Many Tears, I was given a catalogue of excuses to why Bobby was so badly let down, including that Sylvia the ceo was highly medicated when making this decision on Bobby's life. Shocking, just shocking.
From the moment I first walked in to this place, i was met with superiority and scepticism.
All I wanted was the best for this poor little pup. It's a shame no one else there wanted the same.
They even managed to get Bobby's name wrong for his Cremation.
He was truly let down from the moment his mum was brought in unknowingly pregnant from Ireland. Vaccinated without a healthceck, to then being born and raised in kennels with an outbreak of gardia.
This whole litter were experiencing health problems before being adopted, yet they were all adopted with a full clear health check from their on site vet.
Sadly, Bobby was not the only pup from this littler to pass away within days of being adopted. Sylvia has said, that they couldn't have known that these pups were all ill prior and during adoption, this is an outright lie.
The lies have been endless.
This practice of shipping animals from Ireland and other countries is still ongoing. The best interests of these animals are not in mind or being met.
Even if it takes me 20 years, I will make sure people are heald accountable. Please feel free to contact me if you have any information, or speakout about your experience of this place. If I had this experience, I know there's many, many other people out there.
How the staff including Sylvia, dealt with this, I can only describe as cruel, cold, self pitiful and utterly shambolic.
HAVE YOUR EYES AND EARS OPEN.
