Gevril watch scam
Purchased a Gevril Yorkville watch via Debenhams online. Arrived a few days later. Great watch, great price. Noticed the indices and hands were not luminous so contacted Gevril in New York (should have contacted Debenhams - I know) via email. After some emails was told to send the watch to a company in Manchester - Hartman Limited. Being somewhat cautious I checked Companies House and Google maps. No record of the company and not on Google maps street view! Contacted Gevril again, was told Hartman Limited was a new company recently moved to Manchester and should still send the watch to them. Sent the watch on 18th September by recorded delivery , accepted on the 20th. Thought OK, all well. No such luck!! Haven't seen my watch since. My emails to Gevril and letters to Hartman requesting any update have not instigated any response. I have now been forced to contact the police and Trading Standards to look into this matter. Buy a Gevril watch but pray it is as described.
