Nice idea - don't do it if you use bluetooth with it
I previously was using a Samsung 21+. An expensive phone that I need to replace. Looking at the options, I decided on the HMD Skyline. Good camera, Android 15, self repairable. A great option at an affordable price. I bought one. Then I tried connecting a USB-C plug and play microphone to record video. Nothing. tried a direct wire, nothing. No 3.5mm headphone jack like was on the video I watched. Totally incompatible, after doing a side by side set up with my Samsung, which worked first time. Then I thought, I'll try my Interphone M2 motorcycle comms unit. Nada. I have been persevering with this for 3 weeks! So, HMD, I am sorry. Great idea, crappy integration with the rest of the tech world. Going back to my ageing Samsung because at least that reads bluetooth devices. Giving HMD Skyline 1 star because 0 is not an option.
