Disappointed with lack of help when things went wrong
The flight out was delayed then cancelled, and the kids didn’t get a hotel until over 8 hours after original flight time. They were unable to use their meal voucher by the time they got to the hotel. The group of 19 was split into 2 groups. My kid went with the first group of 9, except there was an error and he didn’t have a ticket. The first group left him ALONE at JFK to make their flight. The chaperone came to the airport and advised me to call EF Tours. The first rep gave me the confirmation number of the first flight and tried to hang up on me. I politely explained again that my kid was BY HIMSELF, he had that confirmation number from yesterday, and the second group would be leaving in 3 hours. I then requested to speak with someone else. While the second EF agent was more receptive, she was still unable to help at all. She insisted that they would get my kid on the flight even though it was leaving in 7 minutes, and he still had no ticket and hadn’t gone through security. She then said they would just put him on the 2nd flight with the rest of the group. I knew that flight was booked or they would have already put him on that flight. I felt like I was passed around. I am disappointed with EF Tours. I bought the insurance so I’ll wait to see what happens. Before the trip, they made it seem that we would be in good hands if something went wrong.
