A Breath of Fresh Air
If you want fast Internet, you are limited on options. Until companies like FibreHeros and partnered providers like Squirrel invested and disrupted the space. To keep this brief; I'm used to having no choice but deal with providers who have a monopoly - being purposely vague and muddying the water so they can shift blame, prolonging resolution. I was stuck with a 70/20 from Plusnet - Customer Service was decent but I wanted more bandwidth, my only option was Virgin Media (I wasn’t happy about it either) I ordered a Virgin Media circuit - but they couldn’t work out their own provisioning process, so this was delayed over months. In this time FibreHeros network became available - I placed an order with Squirrel as well. Within a few weeks someone was at my property and despite it being a 'nonstandard installation' the engineer was willing to work with me. Pre-provisioning was already done and since using my own router I was able to use the service immediately. So, not only did Squirrel beat Virgin Media on Price - but also installation time. Plusnet paying £35 a month for 70/20 Potential Virgin Media paying circa £50 a month for 1000/100 Squirrel paying £28 a month for 900/900 - that’s a win. I've been with Squirrel for around 6months now. In this time - I’ve raised 1 fault. A blip where I lost Internet for 10minutes at 1am. • I got a first response (which contained extra troubleshooting steps) within 10minutes - within this time connectivity was back. • I followed up with some further information and again (despite the circuit being back) response within 5minutes which was very transparent and gave me complete confidence that I was in good hands if the issue occurred again. I'm seriously impressed with not only the speed of response (especially considering the time the issue was raised) but the transparency and how direct to the point comms were. In anything - problems will always occur, it’s how you deal with it that matters. Harrison Pugh from Squirrel dealt with this in a professional, efficient manner and really gave me confidence in Squirrel as a provider as well as the technical staff and support team.
