Installation to a Listed Church Building
Installing fibre optic cable to our Grade 2 Listed Church Building and through more than 50 metres of ancient churchyard was quite a challenge, and involved detailed discussions with the Diocesan Advisory Committee which took a little while, but when we had the necessary approvals, the lady in the ‘Onboarding’ Team at Wessex was confident that the Garden Crew could do the field work in a double shift on a Saturday afternoon….and so they did, in spite of miserable weather and the fact that the cows in the next-door field had trampled the fibre optic cable that had been coiled up there for months. The optical and electrical work was completed a few days later with a tidy connection into the Vestry through our thick and hard stone walls. Since we could not even get a ‘phone signal inside the building before we are looking forward to the possibilities that Full Fibre Broadband will bring to our church and wider village community who use our facilities.
