Beware the Renewal!
Beware! They take subscription costs out of your account WITHOUT issuing a renewal notice beforehand. So, if like me, you purchased an annual access it is not made clear that they will take that as a continuous payment every year. You just discover it gone and get an email receipt after the event. What you have to do is purchase access then go into your settings and cancel the subscription straight away. The you get access for the full period purchased unless you haven't used it and its within 14 days. Then it takes 1-2 weeks to get your money back. Which could have all been avoided if a renewal notice was issued BEFOREHAND and it was made clear AT THE TIME OF Purchase that it would renew without telling you! Update 05/11 - in response to your reply below. How many times does a negative review about renewals have to be posted before you consider changing your practices? I can see as far back in June that you are supposed to be working hard to improve this. It isnt clear at the time of purchase or else I would have ensured that it didn't automatically renew. Also, why don't you send out 'due to renew' notices before this happens? I am sure this is a legal requirement of subscriptions to allow the consumer the right to cancel BEFORE taking their money. At a time of a global pandemic, furloughs, job loses and financial crisis you cannot think it is acceptable to take money and make your consumers wait 1-2 weeks for the funds to be replaced when you can simply listen to those that have complained and improve, or indeed implement, a renewal notification process. By all means feel free to screen shot where in the purchase journey you clearly state 1) it will auto renew and 2) what the consumer has to do at that very moment to stop that. I would be interested in seeing this!
