Paid META Support - DO NOT DO IT
My account has been hacked and all my friends have reported my account. The hacker set up two-factor authenticator on my account (learnt the hard way to always ensure this is set up). I was totally blocked out of my account. I paid for Meta support, after tough couple of weeks explaining what had happened my account was rescued and I was very thankful as I had a LOT of memories on Instagram. However, two days late my account was disabled by instagram due to not following their policies. I suspect this is to do with all the reports my friends have submitted or that Instagram has used a new e-mail for my account. No legitimate reason was given other than it breached their policies. I still paid for premium META support and after 3-weeks of going back and forth explaining the situation I have been permanently locked out of my account, being asked to appeal their decision on the app - the app stated that I am unable to submit any more appeals. Service takes way too long and the people behind the e-mail/live chat do not understand the issue they just pass it on. I suspect the AI they use just can't understand the context, but due to this all my memories have been lost. I have requested a file to be sent to me with all content, though this can take up to 30 days. I have reported the hack to Action Fraud but I was gobsmacked to find just how easy it is to hack an account and how little Meta does to safeguard its users.
