SIXT METHODOLOGY BE AWARE!!!!!!!

Beneath my experience with SIXT OLBIA AIRPORT. Let me start by pointing out, that I already “burned out my frustration” writing a letter to Sixt, so my purpose of this review is simply, to objectively warn other people against Sixt based on beneath experience. Hereby an OBJECTIVE recap of FACTS. 1. I rented a car at Sixt Olbia airport via a broker, with full insurance through the broker. Upon my arrival to Sixt olbia airport, I’m pressured by Sixt to take their insurance, being informed, that there’s no insurance on the car, and potential damage(s) will be deducted the deposit of 300 Euro I have to pay to Sixt. I understand this is “normal procedure” not only used by Sixt, but used by car rental companies in general. In fact, they were in their right to deduct potential damage(s), and the broker should following reimburse me. That’s ok with me. This isn’t my concern. 2. After ended rental, I’m returning the car to Sixt Olbia airport (I returned it spotless without damages). 3. A Sixt employee confirms that’s it’s perfect without damages and nothing will be deducted my deposit. 4. I’m asking for written confirmation on this, but the employee refuses, saying that “it’s not necessary - and when you don’t get any paperwork from us, it means that everything is as it should be”. 5. Approx 1,5 month after returning the car, and been giving above confirmation that no damages exists, I receive a letter from Sixt damage department stating that damage(s) were found. 6. Above is obviously in contradiction to what Sixt confirmed themselves in Olbia airport when I returned the car. 7. I’m wondering, what are their intentions with this letter? Should I even take this letter seriously? 8. Not feeling comfortable haven given Sixt my credit card details (by having paid the deposit when picking up the car), I call up my bank asking if Sixt still have the possibility to debit my Mastercard. My bank confirms, arguing that, “since you’ve paid with your credit card at Sixt, they can indeed debit your Mastercard”. In this light, I saw no other choice than to close my credit card immediately to feel comfortable. 9. To draw a perspective on how I see their actions, I would simply use the analogy of a simpel thief on the street trying to steel your wallet. Trying to pressure me claiming that I made a damage after themselves agreeing that no damages excisted, can obviously not been seen any different than trying to take money from me unjustified. 10. Could this be a mistake made by Sixt? Perhaps. But, actions have concequences. Would you let a thief get away trying to steal your wallet on the street if he/she claimed it was a “mistake” grabbing your wallet running away but being caught? Of course not. 11. Renting at Sixt will indeed be my first and last time and my aim with this review is, to prevent other people having same uncomfortable experience. 12. One of the points of vacation is, to stress out from concerns. Did Sixt contribute to this? - absolutely not. Not during my vacation, nor after. Please consider twice before entering business with Sixt after reading above. Regards, Peter.
