AutoUnion Auckland - AVOID, DO NOT USE
AutoUnion Auckland were unprofessional and had hidden costs. They required a 3.9% surcharge on the credit card (undisclosed in our booking paperwork), plus they use a merchant based in the UAE. If your merchant is unaware then they are likely to block, forcing you to pay AutoUnion insurance - this is an issue they are well aware of and again was not disclosed in our booking paperwork. The car also had an unroadworthy tyre, which when I pointed out to them on return, they said I should have found this when we first picked up the car. Another example of lack of professionalism. When I suggested they should refund the extra insurance I paid they said if I wanted to do that then there would be a cost of $1169 for an alleged chip in the windscreen. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. You will get an old car and end up paying more than if you had hired from a more well known car company.
