Unjust treatment.
We are 2 pensioners in our 70s. Travelled down to Southampton from Lancaster on Sunday May 11th for our cruise into the Med. At the checking in desk, we were told that we could not board the ship because of a slight tear on the corner of my husband's 5 Yr old passport. A very slight tear. This was confirmed by another member of staff. This left us shocked and reeling with disbelief. I am not a crying person but I couldn't talk through my sobbing. We had to wait, numbly for our cases to be retrieved and then at our own expense, we had to get a taxi with our luggage, to go to a hotel for the night. The next morning, we had to get a taxi, with our luggage, back to the port and wait for a coach that would return us to Lancaster. It was with disbelief that we sat and stared at our predicament, caused by a tiny tear on the corner of a page of the passport. We travelled to Liverpool on Wednesday for a new passport. 178 pounds . This arrived on Friday. We have since been informed that P and O will not refund us for the cruise, nor will they refund the WiFi package and the money paid for trips. Absolutely gutted.
