Credit Score Damaged Due to Their Own Engineer’s Mistake – Emails Ignored
So Energy mishandled my account after sending an engineer to repair a faulty meter at my home. During that visit, the engineer misread the meter, which led to an incorrect and inflated account balance. I contacted So Energy multiple times via email in an attempt to clear the outstanding debt, clearly explaining the issue and requesting a formal complaint to be opened. Every email was ignored. I received no acknowledgment, no complaint reference, and no resolution. Despite doing everything I could to resolve a problem that wasn’t my fault, I discovered today that my credit score had been seriously damaged—simply because So Energy failed to respond or take action. I’m now having to file a dispute with credit reference agencies, and escalate the issue through any remaining channels. All of this could have been avoided if So Energy had simply replied to my emails and taken responsibility for their own error. To date, So Energy has yet to respond or engage with me in any way. Thankfully, I have a full email thread evidencing my multiple efforts at paying the debt caused by So Energy’s own error. UPDATE 20/6/25 So Energy responded in quick time to this review on Trust Pilot and emailed me earlier this week to say they would fix the issue within 3 days at the latest. The three days have now passed and my previously wonderful credit score is still severely damaged. This company has unlawfully damaged my financial health due to ignoring my emailed attempts at paying the debt, and it is most unfair. BEWARE THIS COMPANY! Unless there is movement very soon, I will be making contact with the BBC’s Rip Off Britain show to share my clearly evidenced story
