Poor sales tactics and lack of transparency

This review focuses on our sales experience, which unfortunately did not meet our expectations in terms of trust and transparency. One day, we were visited by a friendly representative who offered a free, no-obligation quote for windows and doors—something we were already considering. We arranged a time and date, expecting only measurements and a cost estimate. However, when the day arrived, Adrian, a representative from the Taunton branch, arrived 30 minutes late without prior notice. While he was pleasant, what was supposed to be a simple quote turned into a lengthy sales pitch. Despite repeatedly claiming that the company doesn't use high-pressure tactics, Adrian spent over an hour talking to us without even getting close to measuring the windows. Just before I felt the need to end the conversation, he suggested we could save money by placing a sign in front of our house to increase its marketing value, which would reduce the price. He then made a phone call to his supervisor to discuss a possible discount, subtly encouraging us to emphasize our prime location for the maximum allowance. Although I understand approvals are necessary for things like discounts, hearing parts of the phone conversation, particularly phrases like "we only need 2 or 3 houses in that area," made the whole process seem questionable. In the end, we were offered the full discount if we signed up immediately. After an hour-long pitch, two videos, and a 15-minute demonstration of the windows' quality, we had to leave, as we were pressed for time. Throughout the meeting, Adrian didn't check if we had enough time, and he kept pushing for us to commit that day. The main issue here is that what was supposed to be a simple "window measurement and quote" turned into a lengthy, unexpected sales pitch. The approach felt pushy, contradictory, and ultimately made us rethink our decision. Although the company is well-established, this experience left us feeling uneasy and put off by the sales tactics. EDIT: I would urge people, if they do get approached by this company to be vigilant in asking them to leave if you feel uncomfortable. Judging by other 1 star reviews, other people have had them in their house for 3 or more hours - completely disgraceful behaviour.
