Ofgem finally closed down the domestic side of the EE- not before time
Finally, Ofgem took action against the company as per email I just received. In my view, the action is too long in coming as management of EE have made a mockery of the rules and regulations to shaft their customers. To tell consumers you have to wait 3 months before the ombudsman becomes involved is a disgrace when EE where acting the way they were. The directors of the company need to be held to account as given that they were not paying customers as per agreed terms of 14 days one has to ask the question whether the company was trading while insolvent. This needs to be looked at by the regulators and appropriate action taken against the directors and owners should this be warranted by the results of the investigation. "Economy Energy has ceased to trade. Under Ofgem’s safety net, the energy supply and credit balances of customers are protected. Ofgem will choose a new supplier to take on Economy Energy customers as quickly as possible. This supplier will contact these customers shortly after being appointed."
