Extremely Stressful Experience — Avoid If You Value Your Sanity
I booked Fantastic Services for an end-of-tenancy clean and honestly, I wish I'd gone with an independent cleaner instead. What should have been a simple, straightforward service has been one of the most stressful parts of my already very stressful move. Communication has been an absolute nightmare. They are a big, mostly online company, but that just means it's near impossible to speak to an actual person. I had basic questions — when exactly would they arrive, when would they finish — important details, especially as I no longer live near the property and needed to coordinate travel and access. Despite repeated attempts via messages and phone calls, all I got were generic, robotic replies that didn't address my concerns. The phone system doesn't let you speak to a person, and voicemail responses went nowhere. Then the day before the clean, I got confusing texts saying they were already on the way, followed by another asking if they could come early — total chaos. To top it off, I specifically chose Fantastic Services because of their 48-hour service guarantee, only to be told on the day that it didn't apply because the property is "old" with "broken" things like a cracked tile or window — none of this was made clear at the time of booking. I had been relying on the service guarantee so I could leave during the clean, get home, and finish essential tasks related to my move, especially with my landlord coming to inspect the next day. But with the confusion and worry about the guarantee being voided, I felt forced to stay in the area — wasting hours of my time. I even tried to ask the cleaners whether, without the guarantee, there was any point in me inspecting the property afterwards, but due to a language barrier they didn’t understand, so I’m still unsure if staying was even necessary. The whole process has been draining, confusing, and made my moving experience far more stressful than it needed to be. I trusted a big company to be reliable — huge mistake. Avoid them unless you enjoy stress, confusion, and poor communication.
