Please NEVER rent a car with Jucy
We’ve been in contact again yesterday and after a a few weeks, we finally got our offer for compensation to be accepted. Still, the experience wasn’t good while travelling through Australia with not 1 but 3 cars because of all the issues. I’ve updated my review from 1 star to 3 to be neutral after the compensation you’ve given. Hopefully when we drive with Jucy through NZ, it’ll be a better experience! _________ Thank you for the reply on my review. We have been in contact for a few weeks already. You’ll find everything under the name of Marlous Touw. We are still in ‘discussion’ about the upgrade for the car we’ve rented in New Zealand. What we’re asking is certainly not unreasonable and should be more than easy to get done. Hope that we can make it work and not have another horrible experience in NZ… ___________ Please NEVER rent a car with Jucy Our first car we payed $118 AUS a day for (for a total of 6weeks) and we got the worst rental car ever! the first issue we encountered was a malfunctioning refrigerator spoilage of food and additional expenses. This was not the only problem we endured: - The door of the trunk broke down so we couldn’t use our kitchen and once again we had to dine out more than we planned - At the side of the car there was a plastic loose and after driving the first day it started to hang loose so we put it back on with tape (our new car has is as well but not as bad as the other one, see attachment ) - The floor inside of the car where the table was supposed to fit in was loose so the table couldn’t stand straight, it was shaky and we could not use it - It was impossible to use the ventilation grills for the AC they were falling down - The driversplate in the front of the car was hanging loose (we had to screw it back everyday) - Our windshield wipers were not changed in ages and it was even dangerous to use them cause it left so many strips you couldn’t see anything - It wasn’t possible to open or close the car back doors of the car, we had to do it from the inside - And other minor things as one cup holder was broke, steering wheel was dirty, on the buttons you couldn’t tell what it meant because it was whipped out (lights etc) - The windows from the backseats couldn’t be opened at all, when we sleep in the car at night, it gets really difficult to breath if you can’t let in a bit of air. Moreover, the camper was operating in 'overdrive' mode, a setting that we were not informed about when we picked up the vehicle. As a result, we had to refuel much more frequently (everyday!!) than anticipated for even short distances, significantly increasing our fuel expenses throughout our journey. We got a total amount of $309 back for the accessories we rented (as a show of goodwill for our high food expenses and the fuel). And got a new car cause our car had too many issues they could not fix. With our second car we couldn’t open the door from the driverside anymore and also our fridge broke down for the second time. We left our car at the garage and the mechanic told us he could not fix it but can get a new fridge in (Jucy would call him back for this, and they didn’t) the car was 3days at the garage and called Jucy ourselfs again, they promised to call us back and like always, Jucy doesn’t. In total we’ve been tot a mechanic 5times. Jucy told us we’ll get the days back we spend at the garage and that they can’t compensate the 10days of our first horrible and even shameful car the rented us. But they can do marketing advertisements on ‘ take the nicest picture, and get your money back for the rented vehicle’ what about giving people their money back for unusable cars. We’ve been reasonable and only asking back our 10days. And still until this day we have a broken refrigerator cause Jucy doesn’t get back to us. Unfortunately they do not care about customers and only about the money and rip you off! If you want to enjoy your trip DONT BOOK A JUCY!!!! it’ll save you money and time.
