Avoid renting at any cost. The branch manager Fatlum has rented me the property belonging to himself, so he was the agent and the landlord as well. Then the time came for me to move out, he decided to keep £1000 of the deposit for various things, such as "rust on the bottom of the radiator", "dusty window", "burn marks on the gas stove hob", "greasy to touch steam extractor hood" and so on. Some of the things he was asking money for were there then I moved in, others were so minor that he even didn't bother to clean of fix them before letting the new tenant in. And the property report the new tenant received said that the property was in perfect condition. Had to appeal to Deposit Protection scheme and wait 3months to get the deposit back. Also even if you're agreeing to stay for another year, he's asking every year to pay additional administrative costs for the renewal of the contract.
