My experience
We went to Protur Safari Park and just to start with, we started our 11 day experience being excited for our first abroad holiday in 4yrs. However, the food standards quickly turned from good to poor with the food being extremely cold and even the eggs were either undercooked or overcooked. Furthermore, there was a large variety of food but it was roughly the same selection each day. There are also lots of different problems like the reception staff incorrectly informing us about times for when places shut and open on site and were rude and had a I don’t care attitude. Such as the minigolf saying it shuts at 11 and when we get there at 10:15 to play, they say it shut at 10. Also, they said the same thing for the breakfast in the morning on our last day saying it opens at 4 but when we got there at 7AM we had to wait 40mins for them to put the food out. In a different scenario, we then booked a taxi and when it didn’t come after 20mins after it was supposed to come, they said it may come or not. Instead of not caring, do your job properly and solve the problem. We ended up waiting an hour extra after it was supposed to come. Another problem was the rooms. They were a 6/10 at best. The beds were like sleeping on concrete and the showers don’t have a shower mat and are very slippery which could lead to serious injury. Also, the cleaners were useless not washing the balcony, changing bed sheets, and didn’t give fresh towels. Furthermore, the rooms didn’t have full length mirrors so you didn’t know what you would look like before you go out. Another problem was the broken fire alarm outside our room. At 4 o’clock, 6 o’clock in the morning and many times a day it repeatedly went off. They would say they would do something about it. However, they never did. Another problem, was the price of the water park and classing a 13yr old as an adult! That’s ridiculous. If it’s “all inclusive”, then why not make the water park free as it’s only got 2 slides and the other one is for children under 5 max. Now that’s out of the way, overall the pools were nice and the hotel itself is in a great area for going to various restaurants. Personally, I would recommend the kings head as it’s very warming and does karaoke 1-2 times a week and has a family environment. The night-time entertainment at the hotel was really poor. However, the daytime entertainment is really good having sports available to play throughout the day and the animation team are very kind.
