Incorrect, unexpected charges - had to chase for explanation and refund
Arrived at counter on pick-up date early. Had booked to collect at 20:00, was there around 19:20. Helped by super friendly staff on desk who said we could take the car earlier without issue and still return 20:00 drop off day. She said there was a note put on their system so it wouldn't later be an issue. Dropped car off, mentioned to person at desk who confirmed note was there and no issue. Deposit cleared from credit card so assumed everything fine. The next day I saw an unexpected charge of €78. I emailed to 2 addresses. No response from either. I'd filled out a survey after the booking and emailed back to the staff member directly asking for help. It took 5 days to get a reply, stating the charges were related to a late drop off / return. Wrote back again explaining what we were told at desk. Another 5 days later, reply comes saying there was an error and a refund would be issued for the €78. Disappointed to have had to chase and chase to get a response after a charge was made - I am wondering had I have left it if any contact would've been made... The experience otherwise was 5 stars so disappointing to have ended like this.
