I thought I'd bought peace of mind...
I have had thirty years of experience with Heath insurance companies and naively thought a premium of £1700.00 would buy peace of mind at a trying time. Not only was my company contact lacking in all empathy or humanity but the approval process moved at a snails pace despite frequent phone calls and requiring my full medical history (600 A4 pages!) from birth (for a prostate problem!) which I spent an evening helping my overloaded surgery to photocopy hoping to move things along. At the end of the process my claim was rejected (read moratorium agreements carefully or avoid- the are the ultimate get out clause) This therefore, might seem just sour grapes, but if one pays decent money surely one should expect to get service to match! I should have guessed the kind of shoddy set up when I received my original agreement - a cheaply laser printed affair that had been seemingly badly hand-stapled together in the General and Medical tool shed.
