It saved my cats life!
I’ve used Dutch for two of my pets, my older dog got a prescription for pain management because she was nearing the end of her life and my cat who more recently had a bad case of pancreatitis. I had taken her to the emergency vet and it cost me over 900 dollars to tell me she had pancreatitis and that I needed to make sure she was eating and drinking and threw me a prescription of gabapentin and an appetite booster that didn’t work. When I called back explaining I couldn’t get her to eat on her own they wanted to admit her to the hospital, run more expensive tests and tube feed her. She was in so much pain and loosing weight and I couldn’t afford more emergency vet bills I started looking at euthanasia options. I remembered I had Dutch when my older dog passed last year and how much it helped for so cheap so I checked to see if my subscription was still valid and realized I had two more months. I made a video appointment for my cat for that next morning which was a Sunday and the doctor had told me that I’m able to syringe feed her from home, wrote me up a feeding plan and amount of calories needed, and then prescribed two anti nausea medications for my cat. I started the feeding plan immediately and ordered the medications. They took 3 days to get here which would have to be one of the only inconvenient things about using dutch but as soon as they got here I started her on the medication and she felt better within 24 hours. She’s now happy and almost completely back to normal and it’s only been 2 days! This shouldn’t replace an emergency vet in case your animal needs surgery or specific tests done because they can’t do that over a video call but The cost of the yearly subscription is definitely worth it for preventative care and most illnesses and treatments!
