Literally the worst and most expensive mistake of my life…
I cannot say enough about how horrible this company is! My first estimate came in about $3300 to move my two bedroom apartment. Max is my point of contact, he seemed like a super nice guy and totally legit. I don’t know if he’s just a really good salesman or if he has no idea the company that he works for! He was upfront telling me that it was best that I overestimate the items so that I didn’t get charged more when they showed up.I did double the amount of boxes (from 40 boxes to 75 boxes) I was sending but deducted significant amount of furniture. My estimate then went up to about $6000. The day they showed up, the guy says well if you take everything (if I take everything? What the f am I leaving behind ) it’s $11,000. I tried to explain that I had exactly the 75 boxes one sofa, one loveseat, one footstool, two chairs… Not a single item was different than what I shared on the phone. The guy that picked up my stuff just continued to say well it’s X amount of cubic feet. Listen here, buddy. I don’t care… Max told me 75 boxes plus a queen size bed plus a sofa, plus an armchair, plus a nightstand,… All these things are pretty standard sizes. So it’s not my job to know how many cubic feet that is. Having only two days to get out of my apartment and my storage unit and moving from Las Vegas to Chicago I had no choice but to pay the extra price. The movers were messy, not respectful of my home or my items. they left a horrendous mess in my apartment, tape rolls,, water bottles, leftover paper, and cling wrap. Delivery was several days past the first promised date. And when the guy called me in the morning to say, he would be here by noon and then doesn’t show up till after 5 PM. The local guys that they subcontract with to actually do the grunt work said they did the exact same thing to the previous client… Extorted more money from her, her estimate more than tripled from the original estimate. They try to extort more money for a long carry because the truck driver wouldn’t back into the driveway because it would partially block the street. Yeah he parks in the street blocking one entire way of traffic instead. Many of my items were broken, I’m still missing significant things. The back to my sofa. They didn’t finish putting my bed together, didn’t put together any of my other furniture, didn’t remove any of the wrap that was on my furniture. My chair had something spill on it from a box. Which, of course is the only piece of furniture that they didn’t wrap with paper and cling wrap. And of course it’s a tan armchair. Nothing they say or do is honorable or transparent. Every time I called customer service every single female I talk to seemed dreadfully miserable. They were never ever helpful or kind. When they wanted an additional $75-$150 for the long Carry they told the driver that if I gave them a good review, they would waive that money. And the guys didn’t even know how far it was from the truck to the elevator. One guy says 40 feet. The other guy says 300. You mean to tell me that you can’t do simple math.?? You mean to tell me for $11,000 you can’t go an extra 30 feet? Speaking on the phone with Ivan he said that the first 75 feet would be free. But Angie from the office said it was 100 feet. They can’t even get their stories to jive together. I told him honestly he could f@&$ right off if he thought I was giving them another dollar. Then the kids that are actually doing the lifting said well if you give us the money, we’ll tell him that it’s only 100 feet. Apparently they don’t pay the grunt workers shit either. I have not even taken pictures of all the damage or submitted for reimbursement. But I imagine it’s going to be just as much bullshit as my previous interactions with them. For $11,000 I could’ve furnished an entire three bedroom house! It seems that their behavior is the industry standard. I thought I was doing a good thing not renting a U-Haul and buying pizza and beer for my friends. These people were absolutely dreadful in every way. Please do yourself a favor and do not hire any of these people!!
