COMPLETE SCAM..BEWARE!
COMPLETE SCAM... I received an official, government Vehicle Tax (V11) Reminder; and when I entered the online Tax Renewal website address given in the reminder letter - I 'think' (although not quite certain what happened), that I may have entered 'gove' instead of 'gov' by mistake. I suspect this is a common typographical error. This then automatically directed me to this "Vehicle Information" website. Website did feel unfamiliar, but offered me an option for Car Tax renewal; with 'initial' questions related to my car and its tax renewal. But after taking credit card details - I was charged 50p and I believe there is then a monthly payment taken. And then I was asked to create a Password... it was at this point I realised I was not renewing my Car Tax - although the website did focus on that, so I think it is intentionally misleading. I went Online to investigate and found others complaining that they had been misled into thinking they were dealing with DVLA/Tax renewal - only to realise they'd signed up to something they weren't seeking and that there was a small initial charge - then a higher, regular monthly charge. PLUS!! At the end of the process, just to add insult to injury - you are automatically asked to provide a Trust Pilot review - which I did 🤬, because at this stage I still thought I was being asked about the ease with which I'd renewed my TAX. I immediately cancelled any membership of this organisation; and am raising the matter with my Credit Card company. But am obviously concerned that they have taken my credit card details and other information.
